2019 FASHION SHOW PRESS RELEASE
Local Dance & Fitness Boutique Brings Together Nashville Dance Community
The Nashville Dance Community comes together for an afternoon celebrating dance, fashion and fun.
FRANKLIN, Tenn - On Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 4 pm, area dance enthusiasts will gather at the Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin for Be Bold! the 4th Annual Back to Dance Fashion Show, highlighting the latest and greatest in dance and fitness fashion from around the world. Todd Sharp, host of the hit tv show SO SHARP, will be their special guest.
While relatively new to the event scene of Nashville, this unique production has quickly become a favorite among dancers, teachers, studio owners and the community as a whole. More than just a fashion show, the event provides a rare opportunity for all of Nashville’s dance community to come together in a non-competitive setting to celebrate a shared love of dance, fashion and friendship.
This cutting-edge, fashion-forward event highlights and debuts dancewear from American designers, as well as those from Canada, Australia, Portugal, Spain, France and Isreal. This year’s models feature 65 dancers, representing 40 dance programs throughout Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford, Sumner and Wilson Counties, as well as Louisville, KY. In addition to the fashion show, booths featuring all kinds of local businesses related to dance and fitness will be set up for shopping and information; and the Bellissimo Pop Up Boutique will be on-site as well so guests can shop all the beautiful designs debuted in the show.
New this year! Bellissimo has partnered with Inferno Dance and Dance Team Union, who will produce the 2019 show. Dance Team Union recently moved their national headquarters to Nolensville, TN, and Inferno will be bringing their ReIgnite Tour to Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Resort on May 8-9, 2020. Bellissimo owners, Patrice Powell and Kelley Descher, are excited and honored to introduce Inferno and Dance Team Union to Middle Tennessee!
Another new addition to the 2019 event includes a $5 admission fee with 100% of the ticket proceeds benefitting Rejoice School of Ballet. Located in the heart of Nashville, Rejoice is beginning its 20th season of offering excellent ballet education to students from diverse backgrounds. In an effort to make the art of ballet accessible to all families in Nashville, Rejoice offers an income-based sliding scale to its 120 students each year. In addition to teaching and performing classical ballet, Rejoice offers programming to all students focused on life skills, spiritual formation, health and nutrition and diversity. Says owner, Patrice Powell: “One of the goals Kelley and I have had from the beginning was to find ways to use Bellissimo to bless others, particularly within the Nashville dance community. We are so pleased and humbled by the enormous growth this Fashion Show event has experienced in its first few years, and are thrilled to use Be Bold! as a benefit for the Rejoice School of Ballet. What they do through their school is beautiful in every way, and partnering with them is the perfect fit."
Robyne Kennedy, director of dance at Brentwood Academy, will emcee the show for the fourth year in a row. With over 19 years teaching, coaching and choreographing dance in Middle Tennessee, Robyne has both praise and support for the show and its ability to bring together dancers for fun and community-building. "The Bellissimo Fashion Show is one of my favorite events of the year and I am honored to emcee it again this year. I love seeing our entire Nashville dance community come together. Nashville is blessed with so much talent and so many incredible studios to nurture and grow talent. The Fashion Show is a great event that brings us all together for fun and fashion! I know I speak for the entire dance community when I say we are so thankful to have a store like Bellissimo that makes our young dancers feel beautiful and confident.”
The mission of Bellissimo is to empower all girls to feel beautiful just the way they are. Bellissimo, which means “beautiful,” reflects the belief of store owners Patrice Powell and Kelley Descher that when you do something you love and are passionate about – with all your heart – your inner beauty shines and cannot be contained.
This fashion event reflects the mission of Bellissimo: “Fashion doesn't make beauty - YOU do. It comes from inside; beauty is WHO you are. But, fashion does allow us to express our own individual “beautiful." Cute, fun, edgy, elegant. What is YOUR beautiful? At Bellissimo we strive to find the perfect dancewear that allows each dancer to express their own kind of beautiful."
Bellissimo, the Nashville area’s first Dance Boutique, offers an eclectic variety of the latest fashion trends in dance and fitness wear. It also strives to bring together the dance community through various functions and events throughout the year.
Bellissimo moved this summer to a NEW location! Still conveniently located in Cool Springs, Bellissimo’s new storefront is larger and even more beautiful: 790 Jordan Rd, Ste 108, in Franklin. Find it online at bellissimodanceboutique.com, Instagram or Facebook. It is open Monday: 12 pm - 6 pm, and Tuesday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Pointe shoe fittings are available by appointment only.
